Vacancies on Governing Bodies

Finding governors of the right calibre is becoming increasingly difficult for schools in Surrey and elsewhere. A number of schools have current vacancies for governors often with specific experience or skills. If you can help or know someone else who can, please contact Lisa James at Babcock 4S. Bisley C of E Primary School:

Required skills:

  • Financial planning and/or accounting experience
  • Good team working skills
  • Experience in challenging others

Desirable experience:

  • Working in education

 

Cranleigh CofE Primary School:

Desirable experience:

  • Experience of serving on a committee or steering group
  • Strategic planning and the ability to have an overview of performance of an organisation
  • Basic ability to understand and assimilate data.
  • Confidence to ask questions which hold the school to account for the performance of pupils
  • Previous educational experience - desirable but not essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to a range of people from diverse backgrounds
  • The ability to listen to others opinions and contribute as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the local area and community/community engagement skills
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training and development

 

Littleton CofE Infant School:

  • Have regard to and commit to upholding the Christian ethos of the school
  • Financial Skills – specifically experience of managing a Profit and Loss Account and monitoring the financial performance of a business
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training and development
  • The ability to listen to others opinions and work as part of a team

 

Hawkedale Primary School:

Hawkedale Primary School is a growing school and has a full governing board that would benefit from someone who has direct experience of the local authority including planning and education. 

We are in an area that has had, and continues to have housing developments in the local area. 

This has a direct impact on the needs of the schools in the area and having someone with experience of this would help with our longer term planning.

Of particular value are:

  • Generic skills: Community relations, communication.
  • Specific skills: Children’s services, health services, law, HR, project management.

 

St Ignatius RC Primary School:

Particularly seeking Governor to sit on Resources committee with;

  • Finance/resources background and/or
  • Health and Safety knowledge/expertise
